BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina once again has been recognized by Forbes as one of America’s best large employers. This is the third time the company has been named to the list.

According to David Pankau, president and chief executive officer of BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, this recognition demonstrates the company’s commitment to creating an environment of stability and security for all employees.

“We strive to attract and retain the top talent in our industry. Seeing BlueCross on this year’s Forbes list is a testament to that effort,” Pankau said. “Our success over the past 75 years is a result of strategic planning, and that includes investment and innovation in our company’s culture and in our employees. Forbes magazine annually ranks the nation’s top 500 large employers in 25 industries based on working conditions, salary, potential for development and company image. BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina is one of 12 health insurance providers nationwide, including three other Blue Cross Blue Shield companies, to make the 2022 list.

Companies on Forbes’ list of America's best large employers for 2022 were identified in an independent survey taken by approximately 60,000 American employees working for companies with more than 1,000 workers in the United States. The evaluation was based on direct and indirect recommendations from respondents who were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family. Their evaluations also included other employers in their respective industries that stood out either positively or negatively.
